My own journey at Florence Melly began many years ago as a student teacher. From the moment I first walked through the doors, I knew there was something truly unique about this school. Over the years, Florence Melly has become much more than just a place where I work; it has become a huge part of who I am. Having spent much of my career serving this community and having had the privilege of leading the school since 2020, I can honestly say there is nowhere else I would rather be – it’s like home!
I am immensely proud to be the Headteacher of what I genuinely believe is the greatest school in the world.
What makes Florence Melly so special is its people. Every day, I have the privilege of working alongside an incredible team of dedicated staff, supportive families and, most importantly, the most amazing children. Our pupils are at the heart of everything we do. They inspire us with their determination, impress us with their kindness and make us proud through their achievements, attitudes and respect for others. They are, quite simply, the jewels in our crown.
At Florence Melly, we believe that education is about far more than academic success. Of course, we want every child to achieve their very best and leave us with a strong foundation for the future, but we are equally passionate about helping children develop into happy, confident, resilient and caring young people. We want our children to dream big, believe in themselves and understand that anything is possible when they work hard, remain determined and never give up.
Our school is a vibrant, nurturing and inclusive community where every child is known, valued and celebrated as an individual. We want them to leave us not only with excellent outcomes, but also with wonderful memories that will stay with them for years to come.
These opportunities are only possible because of the extraordinary staff team I have the privilege of leading. They are the people who make the magic happen. Every single member of staff shares the same unwavering commitment: to give our children the very best education, care and opportunities possible. They engage, inspire and challenge our pupils every day. They celebrate their successes, support them through challenges and care for them as though they were their own children. In fact, when my staff look at your children, they see their own. They love, care for and believe in every single child who walks through our doors, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. That level of care, commitment and dedication is what makes Florence Melly truly special.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of our families. The partnership between home and school is something we never take for granted. We know that children achieve their very best when schools and families work together, united by the same goal of helping every child succeed.
